This policy explains how SkyLog (“we”) and the third-party services we use rely on cookies and similar browser storage. Please read it together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed in your browser by websites, used to remember state or (when set by third parties) to recognise a browser. Technologies such as Local Storage and device identifiers work in comparable ways, and the same principles apply. Cookies can be session cookies (which expire when you close the browser) or persistent cookies (kept for a set duration), and they can be first-party (set by this site) or third-party (set by providers we use).

2. How this site uses these technologies

PurposeTechnology and retentionRequired?
Remembering your selected cityLocal Storage; kept long-term and clearable at any timeNo — convenience only
Page and font resource cachingStandard browser cacheNot personal
Ad frequency capping and measurementGoogle AdSense third-party cookiesNo — can be disabled

This site itself does not use tracking cookies to build a cross-site profile of you. The remembered-city feature uses Local Storage, and that data never leaves your device.

3. Third-party advertising cookies

Once Google AdSense is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may, where compliant, use cookies to serve personalised ads, cap how often the same ad appears, measure ad performance and prevent fraudulent clicks. Handling of the underlying data is governed by Google's own privacy policy. You can manage it as follows:

  • visit Google Ads Settings to review or switch off interest-based personalised advertising;
  • use industry opt-out pages such as the European Digital Advertising Alliance's youronlinechoices.com to manage personalised ads across many networks at once;
  • block third-party cookies directly in your browser (instructions below).

4. How to manage or disable cookies

Almost all browsers let you view, reject or delete cookies. Typical paths (they vary slightly by version):

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies;
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies;
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Block all cookies;
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Enhanced Tracking Protection.

Blocking cookies does not stop weather queries from working. The only in-site feature affected is the automatic restoration of your previously selected city; you can search or geolocate as usual.

5. Updates

If the services integrated with the site change, we will update this page and its “Last updated” date. Questions are welcome via the Contact Us page.
